    “Compare and Contrast” part deux

Posted on May 9, 2008 | Filed Under In My Opinion...

The following is reprinted in toto from this weeks Patriot Post (linked). If you’re not a regular there - you should be. May I suggest that after reading the following you agree with the writers, you visit (and Bookmark!) the Patriot Post site and read the rest of this weeks offering. It’s a beaut!

    Michelle v Cindy

    By Mark Alexander

While John McCain’s extensive congressional record is well documented, until recently not much was known about his Leftist opponent, Barack Hussein Obama. Two of my three-part profile essays on Obama focus on those who have, by his own account, been his most significant mentors. (See Disciple of Hate and Another Marx brother.)

Still trying to discern who Obama really is, we turn this week to the person who is closest to him, his wife and self-proclaimed senior policy advisor, Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama. Hillary Rodham Clinton may have butted her way into a few policy issues during her husband’s presidential tenure, but Michelle Obama will very likely be dictating policy if her husband gets elected.

Michelle Obama was born 17 January 1964 into a middle-income family on the South Side of Chicago. She grew up with a mother and father in her home, and an older brother. After excelling in high school, Michelle majored in sociology and minored in African-American studies at Princeton University.

At Princeton, she authored a senior thesis entitled “Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community,” proclaiming that her college experience “made me far more aware of my ‘Blackness.’ I will always be Black first…”

She went on to complete her JD from Harvard Law School in 1988.

After law school, Michelle returned to Chicago to work for the law firm Sidley Austin, where she was assigned to mentor the only other black employee of the firm, Barack Obama.

The two were married by their now-infamous pastor, Jeremiah Wright, in October 1992. They have two daughters, Malia Ann (1998) and Sasha (2001), and their principal residence is a fashionable South Side Georgian mansion purchased with the help of good friend, and local gangster, Tony Rezko.

After their marriage, Michelle joined the staff of Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, arguably one of the most corrupt mayoral dynasties in America history.

So, who is this chief advisor to Barack?

She says her campaign role “is to give people yet another slice of who Barack is, making him even more multidimensional. People want to know not just about policies… but who are you? What do you believe in? Can I trust you?”

    Indeed.

In her own words, like those of her husband, her “black first” indoctrination casts a pall over her vision for America.

“Fear creates this veil of impossibility and it is hanging over all of our heads,” she recently said. “Only Barack Obama can fix America’s soul. Only Barack Obama can fix America’s broken soul.”

    Barack, our savior?

When not talking about fear and black victimhood, hope is a common theme:

“What we’ve learned over this year is that hope is making a comeback. It is making a comeback, and let me tell you something, for the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country, and not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. And I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment.”

Princeton, Harvard, Mayor Daley and a million-dollar mansion, but “for the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country”? On that note, my colleague, Michelle Malkin concludes,

“I believe it was Michael Kinsley who quipped that a gaffe is when a politician tells the truth. In this case, it’s what happens when an elite Democratic politician’s wife says what a significant portion of the party’s base really believes to be the truth: America is more a source of shame than pride.”

Like Barack, Michelle builds her stump speeches around the victimization script.

She repeatedly claims that America is “just downright mean” and whines that we are “a nation of struggling folks who are barely making it every day… Folks are struggling like never before…”

Of her husband’s woes regarding his racist and Marxist mentors, she complains,

“The bar has been shifting and moving in this race, but the irony is, the sad irony is, that’s exactly what is happening to most Americans in this country.”

Yuval Levin, a fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, writes of Michelle,

“By her husband’s logic, Michelle Obama must be a heavily armed xenophobic religious zealot, because boy is she bitter… In Michelle Obama’s America, everybody’s suffering, no one has time to make any friends, no one earns enough to eke out a living anymore, and the bar of success is always being moved just out of reach.”

So, another wealthy “useful idiot” in the vein of Jean-Francois Kerry and Teddy Kennedy is going to save the proletariat from the czars? That dog won’t hunt in the general election.

In contrast to Michelle Obama, let me introduce you to Cindy Hensley McCain, wife of Republican contender John McCain.

Cindy McCain was born 20 May 1954 in Phoenix, Arizona, and was the only child of James and Marguerite Hensley. She went to Central High School in Phoenix and was a rodeo beauty queen.

She went on to complete both a BA and an MA in education at the University of Southern California. Afterward, she began a career as a special-education teacher in Avondale, Arizona, working with severely disabled children.

She met John McCain in 1979 at a military reception in Hawaii. He was 18 years her senior. McCain and his first wife, Carol, were divorced in February 1980, and he married Cindy on 17 May 1980 in Phoenix. John has two adopted sons and one daughter, Sidney (1966), from a previous marriage, and he and Cindy have four children, Meghan (1984), John IV (1986), James (1988) and their adopted daughter, Bridget (1994). Cindy discovered Bridget in Mother Teresa’s Bangladesh orphanage, which did not have the medical care facilities to provide surgery the child needed to survive. She brought the child back to the U.S. , she saw to it that the infant was nursed back to good health, and Bridget is now a healthy and vibrant 16-year-old.

The McCains had a difficult year in 1989, as Cindy became addicted to painkillers following two spinal surgeries for ruptured discs. She overcame that addiction with the help of her husband, family and friends.

In the following years, in addition to raising her family, Cindy was instrumental in several charitable institutions. She founded and was CEO of American Voluntary Medical Team, an organization that arranged medical assistance to victims of natural disasters or civil wars around the world. She has also been active with Operation Smile medical teams, taking trips to Morocco, Vietnam and India. She serves on the board of the HALO Trust, and she has been hands-on in operations to remove landmines in Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Mozambique, Angola and Kuwait, where she witnessed the death of a child from a landmine detonation. She is a board member of CARE, which assists impoverished women and children.

In 2000, after the death of her father, Cindy became chairman of Hensley & Co. , one of the nation’s largest Anheuser-Busch distributors, where she consults with the CEO on all major business initiatives. Her estimated net worth is in excess of $100 million.

Cindy suffered a serious stroke from high blood pressure in April 2004, but through physical therapy, has made a near-full recovery.

Though we don’t hear anything about this on the campaign trail, both of Cindy’s and John’s boys are serving their nation in the military. Jimmy, a Marine, is preparing for his second tour of duty in Iraq. (He was so young when he enlisted that Cindy had to sign consent forms.) John IV (Jack) is about to graduate from Annapolis (his father’s alma mater) and aspires to become a Marine officer.

In stark contrast to Michelle Obama, here is Mrs. McCain’s position on the issues:

“My husband’s the candidate. I’m not.” In regard to her vision for America, she says with a smile, “I have and always will be proud of my country.” Clearly, her husband echoes that sentiment.

    Quote of the week:

“Michelle Obama is a bizarre mix of condescension and grievance—like Teresa Heinz Kerry with a chip on her shoulder. But the common thread to her rhetoric is its antipathy to what she calls ‘corporate America.’ Perhaps for his next Gettysburg Address the senator will be saying, ‘I could no more disown my wife than I could disown my own pastor. Oh, wait ”’ —Mark Steyn

    Obama and the Weather Underground

Posted on May 2, 2008 | Filed Under In My Opinion...

A piece here about B. Hussein Obama’s reported (and documented) links to William Ayers and wife Bernadine Dohrn of the 60’s/70’s terrorist organization “Weather Underground”. The articles I have link to that follow pretty much describe the linkage between Obama and these scumbags, but on a personal note - I was a NYC Police Officer during this time and well remember all the events described - plus others - in which these commie pieces of shit tried their best to kill cops and innocent civilians in and around New York City. Of course to liberals/Marxists like Obama, this was all simple “civil disobediance”, which is his warped vision apparently makes domestic terrorism perfectly okay. But what would we expect from a moron who states unequivocally that he will sit down to “negotiate” with Islamofascists trying to kill us (after already succeeding in killing 3000 innocents at the WTC and 4000 more US military personnel since) … as if there is anything to “negotiate.” Gee - maybe Hussein Obama will offer to place the US under Sharia Law? After all - that is precisely what those goat fuckers want in the end - a world dominated by Islam and Sharia law. And of course Marxists like Obama want to take away our Second Amendment rights to own firearms so we are left defenceless. Not going to happen, asshole!

Back to the connection … Obama points out he was “only 8 years old” at the time this (domestic terrorism) was going on, so it doesn’t matter. But it does. It shows Obama’s character better than his fancy orations do. Their relationship is far more than a casual acquaintance - Ayers and Dohrn were instrumental in starting Obama’s political career. They are his mentors as much as the racist “Reverend” Jeremiah Wright is.

So among Obama’s biggest supporters and mentors are a pair of terrorists and cop kiillers, and an out and out black racist, so-called, minister. Good company, Obama! What was that old saying? … “You are judged by the company you keep”?

    Fire in the Night

The Weathermen tried to kill my family.

    John M. Murtagh
    City Journal
    30 April 2008

During the April 16 debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, moderator George Stephanopoulos brought up “a gentleman named William Ayers,” who “was part of the Weather Underground in the 1970s. They bombed the Pentagon, the Capitol, and other buildings. He’s never apologized for that.” Stephanopoulos then asked Obama to explain his relationship with Ayers. Obama’s answer:

“The notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was eight years old, somehow reflects on me and my values, doesn’t make much sense, George.”

Obama was indeed only eight in early 1970. I was only nine then, the year Ayers’s Weathermen tried to murder me.

In February 1970, my father, a New York State Supreme Court justice, was presiding over the trial of the so-called “Panther 21,” members of the Black Panther Party indicted in a plot to bomb New York landmarks and department stores. Early on the morning of February 21, as my family slept, three gasoline-filled firebombs exploded at our home on the northern tip of Manhattan, two at the front door and the third tucked neatly under the gas tank of the family car. (Today, of course, we’d call that a car bomb.) A neighbor heard the first two blasts and, with the remains of a snowman I had built a few days earlier, managed to douse the flames beneath the car. That was an act whose courage I fully appreciated only as an adult, an act that doubtless saved multiple lives that night.

So much for your character, Obama.

    “Tax, or No Tax”

Posted on May 1, 2008 | Filed Under In My Opinion...

With apologies to the TV show “Deal, or No Deal”, we have a situation in which for Conservatives there is no clear winner. I’ve made myself pretty clear, I think, on the subject of John McCain’s bonifides as a Conservative. I don’t even like him personally, after sending him a personal letter (NOT an email) a few years back asking his positions on the then ongoing attack on the Second Amendment. His return letter spelled out his positions (favorable to the 2nd Amendment) and his PROMISE that he would NEVER abrogate those rights. He them turned around and voted to do just that. So much for a politicians promises, eh?

But again we (we being Conservatives) find ourselves in a no-win situation - having to vote for someone we don’t much care for because the opponent is too hideous to even consider. The old “lesser of two evils” once again rears its ugly head.

    McCainCare vs. ObamaCare

    By David Catron
    American Spectator
    Published 5/1/2008 12:08:01 AM

Conservatives like to kvetch about John McCain, and not without reason. McCain has, over the years, given us plenty to complain about. Not only has he sided with the forces of darkness on immigration, the Bush tax cuts and the interrogation of terrorists, he is responsible for one of the most egregious attacks on political speech ever devised — The Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002. Many conservatives are therefore uncomfortable with McCain as the Republican standard bearer in the upcoming Presidential election.

McCain will not, however, be running against Ronald Reagan or William F. Buckley in November. His opponent, barring a party-wrecking decision by the Democrat superdelegates, will be Barack Obama. And, on his most heretical day, McCain would be a better President than the Senator from Illinois. McCain’s conservatism is indeed less-than-pure, but he is a conservative. Obama, his facility with innocuous-sounding bromides notwithstanding, is a classic nanny-state liberal.

Nowhere are the ideological differences between McCain and Obama more obvious than in their respective approaches to health care reform. McCain would emphasize consumer choice, markets and tax reform, while eschewing government-run health care. As he put it on April 28, at the launch of his “Call to Action” tour, “I am convinced that the wrong way to go is to turn over your lives to the government and hope it will all be fine.” Obama, on the other hand, places considerable faith in the state, favoring the shopworn tools of big-government liberalism: central planning, oppressive bureaucracy, and the creation of new entitlement programs.

    Heroes~

Posted on May 1, 2008 | Filed Under In My Opinion...

Continuing my dedication to our nations heroic Marines, soldiers, sailors, and airmen as they put themselves on the line for US in the War on Terror in Iraq. This particular hero wasn’t a Medal of Honor recipient. In fact - he was not awarded any particularly high medal for his service and sacrifice. No - he is a hero by virtue of his spirit and dedication to his comrades in arms and his country. Unfortunately, he died last week from yet another surgery to repair his wounds. Rest in peace, sir - we are grateful for your service to your country.

BAMC’s ‘Miracle Man’ didn’t let injuries hurt his spirit

To the doctors, staff and patients, he was a walking beacon of hope, having survived burns to 97 percent of his body from a roadside blast in Iraq. Though he died unexpectedly after a surgery last week, the indomitable spirit of Sgt. Merlin German lives on at Brooke Army Medical Center, friends and family members said during a touching tribute to the Marine called the “Miracle Man.”

In his three years at BAMC — first a record 17 months in inpatient care, then more than a year in outpatient therapy — German was a living legend whose inspiring determination drew the interest of President Bush, actor Chuck Norris and other VIPs he met. Everything about him, from sarcastic one-liners to his color-coordinated medical garments, will be missed at BAMC, which has treated more than 3,700 troops wounded in the Middle East.

“There is no way to adequately describe what Merlin did for us,” said Lt. Col. Evan Renz, director of the Army Burn Center at BAMC.

German, who was living in Windcrest, died Friday night after routine surgery Thursday to place skin on his lip, BAMC officials said. Results of an autopsy are pending.

The youngest of eight children growing up in New York, Merlin and his brothers weren’t allowed to play with toy guns, his brother Ariel German said. By age 11, he had decided he’d become a Marine so he could shoot a real gun.

He turned out to be an outstanding gunner in the Marines, with a knack for spotting hidden explosives in Iraq. On Feb. 21, 2005, on a reconnaissance mission, his Humvee was hit by an explosive near Ramadi.

German survived a 13-hour flight from Germany but was only given a 3 percent chance of survival. All but the top of his head and soles of his feet had been burned. But after 11 months in intensive care, he’d visit new burn patients, encouraging them to keep heart.

    (Eric Gay/AP)

Burn patient Merlin German with Lt. Gen. James F. Amos during a promotion ceremony last May at BAMC. The cause of the sergeant’s death was pending the return of autopsy results.

Tuesday’s ceremony paid tribute to the 22-year-old who seemed a study in contradiction — a tough Marine whose tenderness showed in the affections he showered on his mother. He loved loud hip-hop music but prayed three or four times daily.

“Love is the only word strong and powerful enough to describe how we all felt about Merlin,” said Brig. Gen. James K. Gilman, BAMC commander.

Gilman said he’ll miss seeing German and gently bumping his fist against the nubs of what had once been German’s fingers, after asking him, “Hey man, how ya doing?” But he said German left behind words for BAMC’s staff and patients to live by when times get rough.

“If Merlin were here today, there is no doubt in my mind what he would say: ‘Fight through, stay strong and overcome because we are warriors,’” Gilman said.

    “Do as I say …”

Posted on May 1, 2008 | Filed Under In My Opinion...

“…Not as I do”, the old saying goes. I’m not sure where it came from originally, but one could posit that someone like Will Rogers first applied it to an observation of our “elected representatives.” Makes sense to me. After all - have we not been hearing incessant warnings that we should “downsize” our cars for the sake of “energy conservation”? We don’t really NEED those big SUV’s, we hear. They waste gas, they put a burden on our roads because they weight too much, and … Al Gore doesn’t like them!!

So in a classic case of the above saying, CBS News has filed a story on, well… just that … on the part of our esteemed elected Representatives. It is not at all surprising that every single one of the politicians mentioned in the expose are … wait for it! …. yes - Democrats. The very same asshats who complain most about you and me driving a “comfortable” vehicle that “meets our needs.” And WHO, you may reasonably ask, has the most to say about the bruhaha? Why, none other than the Mouth that Roared, Charlie Rangel! Dare I mention that the ones leasing - on our dome - the most expensive wheels are …. black? Well I guess I did, so tough shit. Fuckers.

On YOUR Dime: Congressmen Lease Luxury Cars

Little-Known But Exploited Loophole Allows Politicians To Drive, Maintain Expensive Cars, SUVs On Taxpayer Money

Rep. Charles Rangel: ‘My Constituents Appreciate It’

    Pablo Guzman
    NEW YORK (CBS)

You may not realize it, but members of the House of Representatives can lease a car and have it paid for by you — the taxpayer. And it’s not just the car, but gas, registration, insurance … the works.

And as CBS 2 HD found out, there’s no limit on how much they can spend.

Congressman Charles Rangel (black)was recently seen getting out of his Cadillac DeVille, which he leases for $774 per month. Then there was Congressman Jose Serrano, getting out of his Buick LaCrosse, which he leases for $317 per month. And how about this one: Congressman Gregory Meeks (black) was recently seen waiting for Congressman John Conyers (black) to step out of Meeks’ Lexus LS460, which Meeks leases for $998 per month.

All those leases are picked up by taxpayers through a little-known program available only to members of the House of Representatives.

You can probably just imagine the kind of reaction CBS 2 HD got from everyday citizens outside Meeks’ Jamaica, Queens office.

“They should all drive cheaper cars, why not?” Richard Candelario said. “I mean, you know, they’re making the money. I mean, we shouldn’t pay for their cars.”

Members of the House who choose to lease through the program have had a great deal of leeway. Congressman Anthony Weiner (NOT black) of Brooklyn, for example, leases a 2008 Chevy impala for $219/month. Congressman Ed Towns (black) of Brooklyn used to lease a Lincoln for $845 per month, but switched to a 2008 mini-SUV made by Lincoln, the MKX, which costs $715 per month.

Rangel spoke to CBS 2 HD by phone about the seemingly extravagant expenses being racked up on the taxpayers’ dime:

CBS 2 HD: “How would you answer those people who say, ‘Well, but it’s taxpayer money. Instead of $700 a month, could you find something for, say, $300 a month?’”

Rangel: “I could probably find something for … one of those red cars and then I think my constituents would say, ‘With all the money that he gets, this is the respect he shows us?’”

Earlier, Rangel released a statement, further addressing the issue.

“When I’m in New York, my car is my office. I use it to conduct Congressional business. It really pleases me that (my constituents) appreciate driving in a comfortable car, especially the senior citizens,” Rangel said.

“The car isn’t just a vehicle for getting around; it’s an important part of doing my job and my constituents appreciate it.”

Taxpayers CBS 2 HD spoke with were not buying that rationale.

“I drive a Toyota RAV and I feel that he could drive a Toyota RAV and probably lease it for $200,” taxpayer Cathy Kraut said.

Of the 42 Congressmen in New Jersey and New York about a dozen participate in the leasing program.

The U.S. Senate does not permit its members to lease cars with public money.

    National Day of Prayer

Posted on April 30, 2008 | Filed Under In My Opinion...

Oh, I suppose the lefties will do what they usually do - sneer and make blasphemous statements about Christians and Christianity - but they haven’t yet been able to take another day from us. “US” being God-fearing, patriotic, America loving people.

Originally begun in 1775 by the First Continental Congress, who called for a National Day of Prayer, followed by Abraham Lincoln in 1863, established as an Act of Congress in 1953 and signed into law by Harry Truman, and finally amended and signed by President Reagan in 1988, designated to be the first Thursday in May. Which means … tomorrow.

From the Patriot Post (linked) comes this prayer, that all of us might recite tomorrow, Thursday, May 1, 2008, at 12:00 noon …

A Common Prayer for American Patriots

    FATHER…
In peace we pray for all people.
    We pray –
    - for our family,
    - for our friends,
    - for our brothers and sisters in Christ,
    - for those not known to us who are lonely, who suffer illness or other adversity,
    - and for those who remain in our hearts.

    We pray –
    - for our nation,
    - for our president and national leaders, that they would seek You for wisdom, that You would protect them from the lure of greed and power and enable them to promote an agenda that is honoring to You as they govern our country.

    We pray –
    - for all those who stand in harm’s way defending our liberty, that You would protect them and give them comfort in times of hardship, and assist them in defeating the enemy and bringing order to the world,
    - for their families, that You would give them peace and stability as they await the return of their loved ones.

    We pray –
    - for …. (other petitions),

We pray for the knowledge of love, the wisdom of truth and the stewardship of all creation.

We pray in the name of Christ Emanuel.

    AMEN

Remember that from your school days? Always sent the “oh shit” factor skyward, didn’t it? Sometimes it was easy to make a comparison between subjects - sometimes … not so much. However, in the case of the question who really “Supports Our Troops”, it is extremely easy to make a determination which side is honest and which is full of shit, transparent, and lying through their teeth.

“Compare and contrast” the following clips, presented by the 2 major parties, and see if you can determine which is which. If it’s not immediately apparent to you … you’re in the wrong place.

    Savages. Sub-human savages.

There is no other way to describe these people. Arab Muslims, that is. They surely are a sub-species of human development. The following story from the JAWA Report (linked) clearly illustrates what I mean. And by the way - you really must drop in on that blog regularly to see what these savages are up to. It will open your eyes.

Teenage Iraqi Girl Killed For Falling In Love With A British Soldier

    Daily Mail via JWF

An Iraqi teenage girl was brutally murdered by her father in an “honour killing” after she fell in love with a British soldier in Basra.

Seventeen-year-old Rand Abdel-Qader told her best friend how she had fallen for Paul, a 22-year-old she met at a charity where she worked as a volunteer. When her father learned she had been seen speaking to a foreigner he rushed home and butchered her, strangling and stabbing her while screaming that he was “cleansing his honour”.

He was arrested, but Iraqi police took no action. His wife has since left him and is in hiding.

The Ministry of Defence was last night trying to trace the soldier. Officials stressed he appeared to have done nothing wrong by befriending the girl.

Such a sad story. When Rand’s mother asked the brothers to intervene they instead helped murder their sister.

On March 16 - two months after Rand last saw Paul - her father Abdel-Qader Ali heard from a friend that his daughter had been seen speaking to the soldier at the charity project. Recalling Rand’s murder, her weeping mother Leila Hussein said: “I screamed and called out for her two brothers so they could get their father away. But when he told them the reason, instead of saving her they helped him end her life.”

Abdel-Qader Ali stood on the girl’s throat until she suffocated and then stabbed her, all the time shouting that his honour was being cleansed.

Mrs Qader has now become the “ex-wife” of this bastard. Two weeks later her mother demanded a divorce from Ali, and she now campaigns against honour killings. She lives in fear of reprisals. “I was beaten and had my arm broken by him,” she said. “No man can accept being left by a woman in Iraq.”

She was killed for having a “crush” on the British soldier. They only spoke to one another. Honour killings need to stop. There is no “honor” in killing.

The US has their share of honor killing such as the “publicized case” of Texas teenagers Amina and Sara Said. Their father murdered them on New Years Day 2008 for being normal “American” teenagers. Unfortunately their great aunt Gail Gartrel is their only spokesperson. Their mother and brother as well as alot of their relatives remain silent and are more than likely helping to hide him.  Continue…

    “Jimmuh” Carter Redux

Posted on April 28, 2008 | Filed Under In My Opinion...

Buffoon is too good a word to describe this former (thank God!) President. Typically - a Democrat. I commented on him earlier, so the following from Human Events (linked) should be no surprise to anyone.

    Jimmy Carter: A National Embarrassment

Talk about bad pennies always turning up; Jimmy Carter’s at it again.

    by Michael Reagan
    Posted: 04/25/2008

It would be easy to blame the 83-year-old former one-term president’s frequent excursions into irrational behavior on senility were it not for the fact that he appears to have been senile most of his public life.

Any recitation of his frequent excursions into his personal Land of Oz where the good guys are bad and the bad guys are good sounds like a litany of Carter-esque fantasies. His onetime White House Chief of Staff, Hamilton Jordan, once spoke about what he called Carter’s “weirdness factor.”

If he hadn’t just happened to be the leader of the most powerful nation on the face of the earth and the sole bulwark against the expansion of Soviet tyranny, his weirdness wouldn’t matter in the scheme of things, but he was, and much of what he did — and continues to do today — brought disastrous results for his nation and the world.

No one should be surprised at his recent hobnobbing with the terrorist leaders of Hamas. During his four years in the White House, he showed a unique ability to reward the enemies of human freedom while punishing some of America’s strongest supporters.

Anyone shocked by Iran’s troublemaking, including training and arming the terrorists killing American troops in Iraq, can thank Brother Carter for conspiring to drive out the Shah, a fervent supporter of the United States, and seeing him replaced by the mullahs who repaid his kindness by taking nearly 70 Americans hostage and holding most of them for an astounding 444 days.

He withdrew U.S. support and the Shah was toppled, more than 20,000 pro-Western Iranians were killed, women were sent back into servitude and citizens were arrested merely for owning satellite dishes that could tune to Western programs. And, of course, American diplomats were taken hostage. Continue…

I wonder where the “separation of church and state” fanatics will position themselves after reading the latest from Hussein Obama’s “political and spiritual mentor” Jeremiah Wright. Politico has a story that should be a warning to anyone who thinks Obama is a “moderate” Democrat. He isn’t, of course - he’s a died in the wool, 1960’s era Marxist, and anyone with half a brain (which automatically excludes 90% of Democrats) should see that.

So Wright intends to “come after” Obama, ostensibly to try to rectify the “wrongs” of US policy since … well … forever. Marxist/Socialist keywords for “keeping blacks in poverty while others flourish.” You know - whites, Asians who actually work and inspire their kids to study and get an education, and so on. But hey - the country needs it’s 3rd gen welfare leeches and drug dealers, so what’s the problem, Rev? Not everyone can be a phony “Reverend” - not, by the way, a real clergical title, and make millions off the “poor” people he supposedly represents and cares about. Like Wright, I mean. The guy who claims blacks are downtrodden and kept out of society, then “retires” as a minister and buys a multi-million dollar house in an all white neighborhood. That’s showing your people, Rev!

Wright to Obama: ‘Coming after you’

The pastor insisted Obama ‘didn’t denounce’ him and ‘didn’t distance himself’ from Wright’s controversial remarks, but ‘did what politicians do.’

    Jeremiah A. Wright Jr.

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright said Monday that he will try to chance national policy by “coming after” Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) if he is elected president.

The pastor also insisted Obama “didn’t denounce” him and “didn’t distance himself” from Wright’s controversial remarks, but “did what politicians do.”   In other words … LIE

Wright implied Obama still agrees with him by saying: “He had to distance himself, because he’s a politician, from what the media was saying I had said, which was [portrayed as] anti-American.”

Wright, who was Obama’s pastor for 20 years and performed his wedding, made the explosive comment during a chaotic question-and-answer session at the National Press Club in Washington, following the pastor’s remarks about the black church in America.

“I said to Barack Obama last year, ‘If you get elected, November the 5th I’m coming after you, because you’ll be representing a government whose policies grind under people,’ Wright said.

The minister was speaking as part of a tour that is drawing heavy news coverage and causing a huge headache for Obama’s presidential campaign.

Obama, seeking to distance himself from remarks by Wright that some have taken as anti-American, has emphasized that Wright has retired.

But Wright talks of their relationship in the present tense. “I’m a pastor; he’s a member,” he said. “I’m not a ‘spiritual mentor.’ “

In the Democratic debate on April 16, Obama referred to Wright as “somebody who is associated with me that I have disowned,” then clarified that to say he had disowned the comments.

But Wright objected to a question saying Obama had denounced him.

“Whoever wrote that question doesn’t read or watch the news,” Wright said. “He did not denounce me. He distanced himself from some of my remarks, like most of you, never having heard the sermon, all right? …

“He didn’t distance himself. He had to distance himself, because he’s a politician, from what the media was saying I had said, which was [portrayed as] anti-American. … He did, as I said, what politicians do.”

Okay - I predicted this, had some verification of my posits veracity a few weeks ago in another article I posted here, and now the chickens have come home to roost. Food prices are out of control. Shortages exist and are getting to the point where rationing … RATIONING! … is being discussed for the first time in this country since World War II. And the cause? Talk to Al Gore and his buddies in the “Global Warming” scam.

Food Crisis Starts Eclipsing Climate Change Worries

Gore Ducks, as a Backlash Builds Against Biofuels

    By JOSH GERSTEIN
    Staff Reporter of the Sun
    April 25, 2008

The campaign against climate change could be set back by the global food crisis, as foreign populations turn against measures to use foodstuffs as substitutes for fossil fuels.

With prices for rice, wheat, and corn soaring, food-related unrest has broken out in places such as Haiti, Indonesia, and Afghanistan. Several countries have blocked the export of grain. There is even talk that governments could fall if they cannot bring food costs down.

One factor being blamed for the price hikes is the use of government subsidies to promote the use of corn for ethanol production. An estimated 30% of America’s corn crop now goes to fuel, not food.

“I don’t think anybody knows precisely how much ethanol contributes to the run-up in food prices, but the contribution is clearly substantial,” a professor of applied economics and law at the University of Minnesota, C. Ford Runge, said. A study by a Washington think tank, the International Food Policy Research Institute, indicated that between a quarter and a third of the recent hike in commodities prices is attributable to biofuels.

Last year, Mr. Runge and a colleague, Benjamin Senauer, wrote an article in Foreign Affairs, “How Biofuels Could Starve the Poor.”

“We were criticized for being alarmist at the time,” Mr. Runge said. “I think our views, looking back a year, were probably too conservative.”

Ethanol was initially promoted as a vehicle for America to cut back on foreign oil. In recent years, biofuels have also been touted as a way to fight climate change, but the food crisis does not augur well for ethanol’s prospects.

“It takes around 400 pounds of corn to make 25 gallons of ethanol,” Mr. Senauer, also an applied economics professor at Minnesota, said. “It’s not going to be a very good diet but that’s roughly enough to keep an adult person alive for a year.”  Continue…

    With “friends” like this..

Yeah - the old story, right? Guess who? It’s none other than our friends the Israeli’s again. AGAIN!

Ya know, if something like this happens once, you might make an excuse the spying wasn’t at their request. Some dickhead decided to ingratiate himself for some reason and handed over some documents. But it’s NOT the first time for the Israeli’s - nor the second, nor the third. It’s the fourth case we know of. Operative words, “we know of.” Which is to say if they got caught four times, it’s probably safe to assume they ran many more operations and never did get caught. A logical assumption, in my opinion. When is this garbage going to stop? This isn’t some lightweight nonsense - this is Nuclear Weapons technology and intelligence on one of out most technologically advanced fighter aircraft. How much do you want to bet the Israeli Air Force pops up with a new “advanced” fighter, “superior to anything the US has GIVEN us in the past.” Operative word there … GIVEN. These aren’t loans we give Israel - they are outright gifts. Money, military equipment, technology. All gifts. Billions of dollars a year. And THIS is how they repay our largese - they spy on us and STEAL our secrets.

U.S. Army Engineer Charged In Giving Israeli Consulate Nuclear Weapons Documents

    MyFoxNY.com

A U.S. Army mechanical engineer has been arrested on charges that he slipped classified documents about nuclear weapons to an employee of the Israeli Consulate.

The arrest of Ben-ami Kadish is being detailed Tuesday by the U.S. attorney in Manhattan and FBI officials.

A criminal complaint says the activities occurred from 1979through 1985. Kadish worked at the U.S. Army’s Armament Research,Development and Engineering Center in Dover, N.J.

The complaint says Kadish took home classified documents several times, and the Israeli government worker photographed them in Kadish’s basement.

The documents included information about nuclear weapons, a modified version of an F-15 fighter jet, and the U.S. Patriot missile air defense system.

    Semper Fi, Marine, Semper Fi!

You just have to love Marines, no matter what branch you served in, or as a civilian. These guys just love to fight. Warriors. Nothing stirring, and they get bored. Nobody shooting at them, they get bored. Very similar to police work in that sense. Craziness livens things up. You need a sense of humor to even tolerate things, sometimes.

So here’s an example of a Warrior trying to stir shit up!

    Who was our first President?

If you went to a government (read NEA) school within the last 20 years or so - or maybe farther back than that - you might think it was George Washington. Heroic General of the American Revolution he was, but our first President?

In fact - George Washington was not our first President! He was, in fact, the 9th President of the United States! Don’t believe it? Read on and learn something about the history of your country.

Are you sure George Washington was our first President?

After all, no one else comes to mind. But the United States declared its independence in 1776, yet Washington did not take office until April 30, 1789. So who was running the country during these initial years of this young country? It was the first eight U. S. Presidents.

In fact, the first President of the United States was John Hanson. John who? John Hanson, the first President of the United States. Don’t go checking the encyclopedia for this guy - he is one of those great men that are lost to history. If you are lucky, you may find a brief mention of his name.

The new country was actually formed on March 1, 1781 with the adoption of The Articles of Confederation. This document was actually proposed on June 11, 1776, but not agreed on by Congress until November 15, 1777. Maryland refused to sign this document until Virginia and New York ceded their western lands (Maryland was afraid that these states would gain too much power in the new government from such large amounts of land). Once the signing took place in 1781, a President was needed to run the country. John Hanson was chosen unanimously by Congress (which included George Washington). The other potential candidates refused to run against him, as he was a major player in the revolution and an extremely influential member of Congress.

As the first President, Hanson had quite the shoes to fill. No one had ever been President and the role was poorly defined. His actions in office would set precedent for all future Presidents. He took office just as the Revolutionary War ended. Almost immediately, the troops demanded to be paid. As would be expected after any long war, there were no funds to meet the salaries. As a result, the soldiers threatened to overthrow the new government and put Washington on the throne as a monarch.

All the members of Congress ran for their lives, leaving Hanson as the only guy left. He somehow managed to calm the troops down and hold the country together. If he had failed, the government would have fallen almost immediately and everyone would have been bowing to King Washington. Hanson, as President, ordered all foreign troops off American soil, as well as the removal of all foreign flags. This was quite the feat, considering that so many European countries had a stake in the United States since the days following Columbus. Hanson established the Great Seal of the United States, which all Presidents have since been required to use on all official documents. President Hanson also established the first Treasury Department, the first Secretary of War, and the first Foreign Affairs Department.

Lastly, he declared that the fourth Thursday of every November was to be Thanksgiving Day, which is still true today. The Articles of Confederation only allowed a President to serve a one year term during any three year period, so Hanson actually accomplished quite a bit in such little time. Seven other presidents were elected after him -

    1. Elias Boudinot (1782-83)
    2. Thomas Mifflin (1783-84)
    3. Richard Henry Lee (1784-85)
    4. John Hancock (1785-86)
    5. Nathan Gorman (1786-87)
    6. Arthur St. Clair (1787-88)
    7. Cyrus Griffin (1788-89)

..all prior to Washington taking office. So what happened?

Why don’t we hear about the first eight presidents? It’s quite simple - The Articles of Confederation didn’t work well. The individual states had too much power and nothing could be agreed upon. A new doctrine needed to be written - what we now know as the Constitution. And that leads us to the end of our story. George Washington was definitely not the first President of the United States. He was the first President of the United States under the Constitution we follow today. And the first eight Presidents are forgotten in history.

It took eight years to establish a successful government. You might remember this when you hear that so little progress has been made during these last 3 years in establishing a Government in Iraq.

None other than Jimmy “peanut vendor” Carter, is once again apologizing to terrorists on behalf of the U.S. Nobody authorized him to speak, of course, but that has never seemed to bother him. After all - he is a Noble Laureate. Then again, so is Al Gore, so what credibility that honoraria has anymore is questionable. One would think that by now this sad excuse would have figured out how far you get by playing “palsy-walsy” with terrorists. He has apparently forgotten the American hostages in Iran who rotted in prison for 444 days during his administration. Some other thoughts on Carter’s madness …

On government and the people: “When I go to a dictatorship, I only have to talk to one person and that’s the dictator, because he speaks for all the people. But in a democracy like Israel, there is a wide range of opinions and that counterbalances the disappointment that I have in not meeting with the people shaping Israeli power now in the government.” —foreign policy expert Jimmy Carter  “I can’t say that [Hamas] will be amenable to any suggestions, but at least after I meet with them I can go back and relay what they say, as just a communicator, to the leaders of the United States.”
    —Jimmy Carter

“America elected Jimmy Carter 32 years ago and is still paying the price. Suppose history repeats: Obama wins and has a failed one-term presidency. Will he be jetting around the world meeting with terrorists and despots and denouncing America in 2040? Maybe not, but the thought gives us a shudder.”
    —James Taranto

“It seems there is scarcely a serious bad actor on the planet with whom Jimmy Carter has not met. He is a serial tyrant-enabler, the very personification of Rodney King’s risible appeal, ‘Can’t we all get along?’ Mr. Carter has come to epitomize the notion that ‘dialogue’ is always in order, no matter how odious or dangerous the interlocutor—or the extent to which they or their agendas will benefit from such interactions.”
    —Frank Gaffney, Jr.

“In the final analysis, Jimmy Carter will be best remembered by history as a man whose time in and out of high public office was almost unblemished by success.”
    —Frank Gaffney, Jr.

“[Jimmy] Carter is about to make a disgrace of himself yet again, this time by meeting in Syria with Hamas terrorist leader Khaled Mashaal. His influence is nonexistent except where he can perform the role of useful idiot for America’s enemies.”
    —Jed Babbin

Jimmuh … please just shut the fuck up and go away.

    Racist Obama

Posted on April 16, 2008 | Filed Under In My Opinion...

    MICHELE OBAMA’S MILITANT RACISM REVEALED

In her senior thesis at Princeton, Michele Obama, the wife of Barack Obama stated that America was a nation founded on “crime and hatred.” Moreover, she stated that whites in America were “ineradicable racist.” The 1985 thesis, titled “Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community” was written under her maiden name, Michelle LaVaughn Robinson.

Michelle Obama stated in her thesis that to “Whites at Princeton, it often seems as if, to them, she will always be Black first…” However, it was reported by a fellow black classmate, “If those “Whites at Princeton” really saw Michelle as one who always would “be Black first,” it seems that she gave them that impression.” Most alarming is Michele Obama’s use of the terms “separationist” and “integrationist” when describing the views of black people. Mrs. Obama clearly identifies herself with a “separationist” view of race.

By actually working with the Black lower class or within their communities as a result of their ideologies, a separationist may better understand the desperation of their situation and feel more hopeless about a resolution as opposed to an integrationist who is ignorant to their plight.”

Obama writes that the path she chose by attending Princeton would likely lead to her “further integration and/or assimilation into a white cultural and social structure that will only allow me to remain on the periphery of society; never becoming a full participant.”

Michele Obama clearly has a chip on her shoulder. Not only does she see separate black and white societies in America, but she elevates black over white in her world.

Here is another passage that is uncomfortable and ominous in meaning…

“There was no doubt in my mind that as a member of the black community, I am obligated to this community and will utilize all of my present and future resources to benefit the black community first and foremost. “

What is Michelle Obama planning to do with her future resources if she’s first lady that will elevate black over white in America? The following passage appears to be a call to arms for affirmative action policies that could be the hallmark of an Obama administration.

“Predominately white universities like Princeton are socially and academically designed to cater to the needs of the white students comprising the bulk of their enrollments.”

The conclusion of her thesis is alarming. Michelle Obama’s poll of black alumni concludes that other black students at Princeton do not share her obsession with blackness. But rather than celebrate, she is horrified that black alumni identify with our common American culture more than they value the color of their skin.

“I hoped that these findings would help me conclude that despite the high degree of identification with whites as a result of the educational and occupational path that black Princeton alumni follow, the alumni would still maintain a certain level of identification with the black community. However, these findings do not support this possibility.”

Is it no wonder that most black alumni ignored her racist questionnaire? Only 89 students responded out of 400 who were asked for input.

Michelle Obama does not look into a crowd of Obama supporters and see Americans. She sees black people and white people eternally conflicted with one another. The thesis provides a trove of Mrs. Obama’s thoughts and world view seen through a race-based prism. This is a very divisive view for a potential first lady that would do untold damage to race relations in this country in a Barack Obama administration.

Michelle Obama’s intellectually refined racism should give all Americans pause for deep concern.

Now maybe she’s changed, but she sure sounds like someone with an axe to grind with America. Will the press let Michelle get a free pass over her obviously racist comment about American whites? I am sure that it will. But it shouldn’t. Has anyone stopped to think what kind of change; really?

What did I tell you, part deux.

Food Costs Rising Fastest in 17 Years

Monday April 14, 4:10 pm ET
By Ellen Simon, AP Business Writer

Food Costs Rising at Fast Clip, Squeezing Poor, Forcing Food Vendors to Explain Higher Prices

NEW YORK (AP) — Steve Tarpin can bake a graham cracker crust in his sleep, but explaining why the price for his Key lime pies went from $20 to $25 required mastering a thornier topic: global economics.

He recently wrote a letter to his customers and posted it near the cash register listing the factors — dairy prices driven higher by conglomerates buying up milk supplies, heat waves in Europe and California, demand from emerging markets and the weak dollar.

The owner of Steve’s Authentic Key Lime Pies in Brooklyn said he didn’t want customers thinking he was “jacking up prices because I have a unique product.”

“I have to justify it,” he said.

The U.S. is wrestling with the worst food inflation in 17 years, and analysts expect new data due on Wednesday to show it’s getting worse. That’s putting the squeeze on poor families and forcing bakeries, bagel shops and delis to explain price increases to their customers.

U.S. food prices rose 4 percent in 2007, compared with an average 2.5 percent annual rise for the last 15 years, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. And the agency says 2008 could be worse, with a rise of as much as 4.5 percent.

Higher prices for food and energy are again expected to play a leading role in pushing the government’s consumer price index higher for March.

Analysts are forecasting that Wednesday’s Department of Labor report will show the Consumer Price Index rose at a 4 percent annual rate in the first three months of the year, up from last year’s overall rise of 2.8 percent.

For the U.S. poor, any increase in food costs sets up an either-or equation: Give something up to pay for food.

“I was talking to people who make $9 an hour, talking about how they might save $5 a week,” said Kathleen DiChiara, president and CEO of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. “They really felt they couldn’t. That was before. Now, they have to.”

For some, that means adding an extra cup of water to their soup, watering down their milk, or giving their children soda because it’s cheaper than milk, DiChiara said.

U.S. households still spend a smaller chunk of their expenses for foods than in any other country — 7.2 percent in 2006, according to the USDA. By contrast, the figure was 22 percent in Poland and more than 40 percent in Egypt and Vietnam.

In Bangladesh, economists estimate 30 million of the country’s 150 million people could be going hungry. Haiti’s prime minister was ousted over the weekend following food riots there.

Still, the higher U.S. prices seem eye-popping after years of low inflation. Eggs cost 25 percent more in February than they did a year ago, according to the USDA. Milk and other dairy products jumped 13 percent, chicken and other poultry nearly 7 percent.

USDA economist Ephraim Leibtag explained the jumps in a recent presentation to the Food Marketing Institute, starting with the factors everyone knows about: sharply higher commodity costs for wheat, corn, soybeans and milk, plus higher energy and transportation costs.

The other reasons are more complex. Rapid economic growth in China and India has increased demand for meat there, and exports of U.S. products, such as corn, have set records as the weak dollar has made them cheaper. That’s lowered the supply of corn available for sale in the U.S., raising prices here. Ethanol production has also diverted corn from dinner tables and into fuel tanks.

Soybean prices have gone up as farmers switched more of their acreage to corn. Drought in Australia has even affected the price of bread, as it led to tighter global wheat supplies.  Continue…

So… since my priorities lately have shifted to staying alive due to various ailments - and not venting - I have decided to end this thing. I expect by  the end of the month I will have things cleaned up and various accounts adjusted so I can delete the whole thing.

To those regulars (few though you are) my thanks for tolerating me and my sometimes(?) “difficult” moods.

Like anything more needs to be said. Say one thing - do another. It’s endemic in the Democrat Party, as should be apparent to anyone who, a) has an IQ above room temperature, and b) managed to escape from an NEA school with common sense and individualism intact. I know - no mean feat there, but it happens.

So really, why should we - meaning citizens with some semblance of common sense and/or morals - be at all surprised at the crap that spews from the mouths of these moral cripples? They wouldn’t know the truth if it reared up and kicked them in the balls. Assuming the Beta males had any to start with, but that’s another story.

They all … the lot of them … are degenerate liars intent on one thing and one thing only, protestations to the contrary notwithstanding, and that is POWER. They lust for it. They NEED it (Beta males always do, you know. They think it makes them more “manly” than they really are). It is the reason they gravitate like they do to political life - not a sense of public service. They are in fact nothing more than welfare recipients, feeding at the public trough their entire adult lives. Look at the names, and see how long they have been in “public service”, having never before this held any kind of job. And you expect them to have any sense of what a working person has to deal with to get along? Please. If you believe that, you are NOT a survivor of an NEA school.

    Obama Is Lying

    By Jennifer Rubin
    Published 4/10/2008 12:07:45 AM

When was the last time the MSM took a Republican’s side in a fight over credibility with a Democratic opponent? Well, it has been a while. However, conservatives have little to grumble about in the recent face-off between Barack Obama and John McCain over McCain’s statement that troops might have to remain for “100 years” in Iraq “as long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed” after fighting had concluded, as they have done in South Korea and Germany.

Most recently, ABC’s Jake Tapper noted that at least on three occasions Obama had personally said that McCain favored continued fighting in Iraq for 100 years. Tapper concluded that “Obama has in the past distorted McCain’s comments” and “that he is violating his own stated aspirations…[b]ecause not only has he distorted what McCain said, he is not being honest about having made those distortions.”

Tapper is not the only MSM reporter to point this out, of course. It is not every day that the RNC sends around e-mail blasts quoting Frank Rich (”Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton should be ashamed of themselves for libeling John McCain”) and reports from the Chicago Tribune, Atlantic Monthly, AP, New York Times, Washington Post, Slate and other MSM outlets, all for the same proposition: Obama is lying.

This episode is revealing both about Obama the man and about the misconceptions he may have about the media. Continued…

Dreams From My Father, Lame Excuses From My Grandfather

Since a Chinese graduate student at Columbia University, Minghui Yu, was killed last Friday when black youths violently set upon him, sending him running into traffic to escape, I think B. Hussein Obama ought to start referring to the mind-set of the “typical Asian person.”

As of Wednesday, police had no motive for the attack, and witnesses said they heard no demand for money or anything else. The Associated Press reports that the assailant simply said to his friend, “Watch what I do to this guy” before punching Yu.

Meanwhile, let’s revisit the story about Obama’s grandmother being guilty of thinking like a “typical white person.” As recounted in Obama’s autobiography, the only evidence that his grandmother feared black men comes from Obama’s good-for-nothing, chronically unemployed white grandfather, who accuses Grandma of racism as his third excuse not to get dressed and drive her to work. The Fugitive: The Obama Files Continue

Three weeks ago an international fugitive and major member of the Antoin “Tony” Rezko crew of Chicago was sighted in the first-class lounge at the Queen Alia International Airport at Amman, Jordan. This sighting is significant not only to Iraqi and American justice but also to the unexplored and potentially disturbing political associations of Senator Barack Obama.

The fugitive is Aiham Alsammarae, 57, and he is listed on an Interpol warrant as being wanted by the Republic of Iraq. Iraqi-born, Mr. Alsammarae is also an American citizen with a residence in greater Chicago. He served two turbulent years, July 2003-May 2005, as the CPA Minister of Electricity, and he was convicted by a Baghdad court in October 2006 of helping to plunder his ministry of $650 million. Escaping from Baghdad under little-explained circumstances in December 2006, Mr. Alsammarae fled via Amman to Chicago, where he has been at work at his engineering consulting firm these last fifteen months. Obama Promises to Dismantle Our Armed Forces

    by Robert Maginnis
    Posted: 04/10/2008

YouTube has an undated 52-second clip (previously posted here) of Democratic presidential candidate Senator Barrack Obama outlining his plans for America’s national defense. Obama’s presentation demonstrates either total naivete about important national security programs or he is just pandering for votes among the extreme left.

Watch Obama’s message and consider some inconvenient facts about his national security promises.

“I’m the only major candidate to oppose this war from the beginning and as president I will end it.” No one likes war: especially those who have to do the fighting and dying. Yet, our military leaders make clear that the consequences of a rapid withdrawal from Ir
